How do I sign up for online banking?

Go to the “Resources” menu, select “Online Banking” then click on the “Personal Banking or Business Banking” button. You will be guided through the sign-up process.

Are there any fees charged for usage of online banking?

No.  Personal online banking from Citizens First is free.  There are nominal fees associated with business online banking.

What exactly will I be able to do with online banking?

You will be able to check account balances, transfer funds among multiple accounts, pay bills electronically, and much more.

What security measures has the bank put in place to protect my accounts from unauthorized access?

When you log on to your account, your banking information is protected by Secure Socket Layers (SSL) encryption, the industry-standard method for protecting web communications. The SSL security protocol provides data encryption, server authentication, and message integrity.

What are the system requirements for using online banking?

Online banking works best on Microsoft XP, 2000, NT, or ME operating systems and Internet Explorer 6 and higher. It also works on Netscape 6.1 and higher. (NOTE: It is always prudent to update your internet browser to the latest version available to ensure maximum performance.)

Do joint account holders have to sign up individually to use the service?

Yes. Joint account should have separte username and passwords for increased security.

Can I allow other people to access my accounts using online banking?

We do not recommend that you share access to your banking information with other people not listed on your account. Keep your username and password in a safe place.

Can I use online banking to transfer funds to other Citizens First accounts?

Yes, you can transfer funds online between two or more Citizens First accounts.

What if I lose or forget my password?

Contact our customer service hotline at 810-989-2622 to request a temporary password.

If I change my email address, how should I notify the bank?

You can update your email address in the “Options” section of your online banking account or call a Customer Service Representative at 810-989-2622.

What if I cannot access online banking on my computer?

The problem is likely one of two things. The operating system and/or browser on your computer could be outdated (see the above question about system requirements for using online banking) or our system might be down temporarily due to maintenance or service overload.

What should I do if I think somebody else is accessing my online banking account without my permission?

Call 810-989-2622 immediately to report unauthorized usage of your online banking account.
